A group from Lithuania together with group from Poland was in Polish-Lithuanian Youth Exchange project “Stage of Friendship” in Poronin (Poland) from May 28th to June 2nd. During the project we had workshops: improvisation theatre, trip to mountains and culture evenings. In improvisation theatre our motto was “Fail Happy”. Time in workshops was exciting because everyone was very active and brave, joined every activity. Lithuanian participants were very polite and friendly with Polish participants. During these workshops we improved our English and acting skills. Workshops helped us to raise our self-esteem.
Hiking was very exhausting, but fun and pleasing. We saw a lot of beautiful views. Our goal was to reach waterfall. The view of the final point was spectacular and breathtaking. The trip was good for us to improve our strength, to think about what we have learnt and to know each other better.
On culture evenings we surprised each other with traditional dishes. Participants from both countries made quizzes for each other about other countries. That helped to learn more about other culture. Both countries told poems written by well-known Lithuanian-Polish poet Adomas Mickevičius. That was the thing that made us became closer. Watching how Polish people learned well known poem in Lithuanian and Lithuanian people learned poem in Polish. That was pleasing to watch and listen.
I think during this project we have not just learnt about other cultures, but raised our self-esteem, discipline and improved our English, acting skills. This project helped us to make new friends and made us understand that it‘s not important what nationality we are, we still can find people that have same interests as we do. We just have to be friendly with everyone. I really liked this project and people I met during it. I hope I will meet them one day again!
