After I joined Erasmus+ project “Set your business now” Lithuanian team I had no idea what adventures awaited for me. There were over 40 participants from 3 countries: Lithuania, Poland and Slovakia. Each country had their leader who organized various activities, that didn’t let our time go to waste. Personally, I loved to see people coming from different countries of Europe, in that way we had a perfect chance to try our English skills. At the beginning it was hard to communicate, but as we got to know each other we became more confident and in time we broke the language barrier.
It was really entertaining participating in those activities that revolved with business and innovations. First thing we got to know that when you start your business there are two main things. First one – the idea of your business. Every team that was gathered from every country had to propose a business idea. It wasn’t an easy task, fortunately every team handled it well. We had to present our ideas publicly.
But how to find out the idea we’re having is commendable? In business it’s simple. Good idea is the one which attracts investors. For every idea to come true descent funding is needed. We experienced it firsthand. We were given out fake money that we had to place in other teams containers we liked the best. That way, ideas that won were the most appealing to a daily consumer. I’ve learnt that you don’t have to be afraid of changes, saying your opinion, presenting your original ideas as how strange it would look at the beginning. If you won’t believe in your idea, others will too.
Apparently, having a good idea isn’t enough. Second main thing in the business – dependable team. I’ve noticed that even if your idea isn’t that original your team can make it attractive. I’ve realized that you shouldn’t be intimidated by opinion differences, in fact it lets you understand ones idea even clearer. It is the best when a team is formed by colleagues that has different taste and view from a different perspective that way you start to see the same idea differently, you start to notice things that you’ve never thought about. After completing all tasks we realised that we’ve not only became a great team but practically best friends.
It’s really amazing how in this project within a little bit more than a week I found over forty friends from all over the Europe. All the participants – Polish, Slovakians and Lithuanians – still hold contacts even after this projects end. Especially during this journey I’ve realized that there are no walls between European countries. And not only because as once upon a time there were customs officers at them. Above all, we won’t have walls in our hearts – to not be afraid of speaking our minds and providing ideas. In that way business ideas would become easier to implement.
