In the end of July I had an extraordinary opportunity to participate in an international Erasmus+ project “Europeans are one family“. 32 young people from Poland and Lithuania took part in this event. Together we were able to feel the unity of European people.
The project took place in a small town of Poronin which was located in the high Tatra mountains and approximately 6 kilometres away from the city of Zakopane. During the project we had plenty of workshops where we were changing our experiences and discussing global issues. Apart from that we also had spare time activities such as hiking and sightseeing. In the evenings we were obliged to organise international evenings.
As for Lithuanian evening, the team decided to show a small video about Lithuania, after that we organised a query and finally we invited participants from Poland to dance our national dances and try traditional food, like bread, kvass or šakotis cake. But the activity that inspired me the most was trip to Tatra national park, where we had to climb for more than 2 hours to reach the famous Morske Oko lake.
We were amazed by the beauty of mountains, yet the trip also had a metaphorical meaning- in order to achieve your goal you have to be open for new ideas, as well as, perseverant. This exchange project was a great opportunity to make new connections with people from both countries, get to know more about them and also to be amazed by the beauty of Tatra mountains.
