“My experience in the company was even better than I expected. Everybody in the office are very nice and fun people. I always felt welcomed and like they want me to learn new things and work on their projects. I would love to work with them again in the future, if I ever get the chance.”
My experience in Lithuania
When we found out we were going in Lithuania for our practise I looked it up and read that it’s a cold but beautiful country and that the people are really nice.
I can say that all those things are true. Even when the sun is shining the temperature can be below zero. Vilnius is such a beautiful city. We walked to Gediminas Castle Tower at and I fell in love with the view at night. And the people. I was surprised when the passer-byes just started talking to me and not in an intrusive, but a nice way. Our boss, supervisors and co-workers always welcomed us with a smile and complimented us when they were pleased with our work.
I will always remember March 8th, International women’s day, when our boss Rasa, came to the office and gave each a tulip. Then we celebrated her birthday from two days ago, and talked about different traditions in Lithuania and Slovenia, and some we have are very similar.
We also had the luck to be in Vilnius on the weekend they had St. Casimir fair in all city centre. It was amazing to see stands many kilometres along the streets of the Old Town. You can buy anything from handmade baskets to traditional Lithuanian dishes. It was so interesting to see people performing on the streets and other Lithuanian people just singing with them.
On the weekend of the fair we also visited the Money Museum of the Bank of Lithuania. I loved it. Our guide was so funny and interesting that two hours passed like fifteen minutes. For our last work day, we hung out and we ate cake. Our two weeks in Lithuania went by very fast and it was a really remarkable trip.
