Inovaciju Biuras, in partnership with the community from Balsiai, has brought together the local community of students and workers together with people from other areas of Lithuania and other countries, like Spain and Portugal.
The meeting happened in Balsių School, which is surrounded by green areas and has a very original playground filled with dynamic activities. The students and visitors can enjoy a garden of the senses, in which they can smell aromatic herbs or walk in a path of different textures, as well as challenge themselves with fun exercises, read from the free library box, or observe the insect house.
After getting a little explanation about the playground and trying out the activities, the community gathered around the table for a picnic that they had all set together and that featured some Lithuanian must-haves, like fried bread, birch water, and Gira.
Once they had already shown us the site and after having tasted the food, we began with the activities. The first consisted of putting ourselves in pairs and drawing the animal with which the other person identifies, his hobby, and his motivational quote. This activity helped break the ice as we didn’t know each other and also helped us to know each other better.
Then we did an activity related to synchronization. It consisted of trying to clap at the same time, at first you may think it is something easy but it is more difficult than it seems. This activity helped us to connect more with each other.
We continued with another activity for increasing our energy and attention. This activity consisted of the whole group following the movements of one person, in this case, Milda was grabbing the book and doing some movements that all of us had to copy.
The final activity consisted in making groups of 3, and by turns, one of the group turns on his back and the other two people have to gossip about that person, but only good things. The purpose of this activity is to make the other person feel better and show them the good things they have.
It has been a beautiful journey where we had the pleasure of meeting new people and learning new things.
