Our Lithuanian group was the first country in intercultural evenings. After four hours of discussions, finally we made scenario of our evening. The evening started with Lithuanian folk song ‘Oi laukiam, laukiam’ (We are waiting for our guests). We met our guests with bread and salt.
When all people took a seat, we showed short video about our country. Then we danced folk dances ‘Oira’ and ‘Kepė kepė boba blynus (Old woman cooked pancakes).
In the end we presented mineral water „Vytautas“ and invited our friends to the table. On the table we put national dishes: šaltibarščiai (cold pink soup), cheese with honey, and other food made in Lithuania – mineral water „Vytautas“, cheese „Džiugas“, candies…
Next evening was Polish intercultural evening. In this evening they presented some facts about Poland. It was very interesting! Polish people showed us them national dance and song. Also they showed short movie about history of Poland. And in the end they invited us to taste their national sweets. Everything was really tasty.
And finally the last country but not the worst was Slovakia. I was really surprised that Slovaks have the same tradition to meet their guests. Slovaks presented their country also by the short video and some facts. They showed us folk dance and song.
After all, like previous evenings we were invited to take a seat near the table. We tasted national Slovak dumplings (halušky), potato pancakes, candies and snacks.
In the end of every evening we made a disco. It was really awesome when leaders joined us. Every evening, every culture had something specific, something we didn‘t know before. At beginning of the project I really didn‘t know so much about Slovakia and Poland. Those cultures made a huge impress to me. If I have a chance, I will surely visit these countries.
