Workshop for young people about body image and social media was held on 8th July, 2019 under the Erasmus + School Education Strategic Partnership project “Healthy Minds – Wellbeing at School” (HMWS). Topics about body image and social media were selected for workshop as ones of the top interesting topics based on results of survey we implemented about most important and common issues among young people (aged 14-21 years old) (*see http://eurappeal.eu/what-about-wellbeing-at-school/).
Posters, “collages” were created and it was an active discussion – self-reflection, what is body image, how to develop a healthy body image, whether appearance is important, how to take care of your body, how much social media affects us and how can we develop critical thinking towards social media. Participants: “Being different is wonderful!”, “Beauty starts from becoming yourself”, “Your body is a reflection of your lifestyle, so it is very important to develop healthy habits, exercise, eat healthy, take care of your needs”, “It is important to learn to take care in your body for its own sake and not for the sake of others”. The workshop was organized by Innovation Office. Participants had opportunities to be actively involved in developing the messages & passing them on to their peer groups.
