I had a great opportunity to be involved in a project “Green energy“. This Erasmus+ youth exchange project took place in Phocai, Turkey from 28th of May in 2016. There were involved people from seven countries: Romania, Macedonia, Greece, Slovakia, Portugal, Turkey and Lithuania. “Green energy“ project was based on cooperation, solidarity, active participation, reflection of the needs and interests and contribution of individual improvement.
During this project we had different kind of activities. In a day time we had to work in multicultural groups and make presentations. It was a chance to get acquainted with everyone better. Each country had to present their language and teach basic words. In the evening we had cultural nights, where we could taste different kind of traditional food, dance traditional dances and know their culture better. We also had an opportunity to present Lithuania. Even if the time table was very strict, we still had free time. The hotel location was fantastic, because it was near the sea and the view from our room was amazing.
The most interesting group activity was to create and present our green house. There were many creative ideas shown and useful facts told. This project encouraged me to think more about renewable resources and its utilisation in my house. Even if the climate in Lithuania is not so generous as it is in southern countries, there are ways where we can use nature power as well. I was surprised about the usage of renewable resources in Phocai. People are using solar energy to heat the water and driving electric motorcycles there.
On the last day of the project we had a boat trip in Aegean sea. We were admiring the view from the boat, swimming in the sea and relaxing. All the week the sun was shining and the weather was great. People there were very friendly.
I am thankful for organizers who gave a chance to participate in this project. It was an amazing experience I will never forget!
