When winter ends and spring begins I had an opportunity to be in Poland, Zakopane. There was a project held for environmental problems. It was an international project, which involved several countries: Lithuania, Poland, Italy, Croatia and Romania. Project members had to perform all kinds of activities related to solving environmental problems.
Firstly, all project countries introduced themselves and their main environmental problems, after different activities were performed. Most of all I liked the task where every group had to create their ecological farm. In order to do this, project organizers showed us a film how to make that kind of farm. In my group were these people: me, Daniica, Gianluca, Jelena, Anna.
We were provided with supplies, which were necessary to make farm project, and on a piece of paper we had to draw a farm project. Work went really fast because we all had great ideas. Our final project idea looked like this: our farm was in the forest near the river and we were growing ecological vegetables: potatoes, carrots, onions, cucumbers, cabbages and etc. In order to save our vegetables from parasites we were growing stinky flowers. Also we had animals like sheep and cows. We had energy supplies from hydro power plant and energy, which was unnecessary we sold to villages nearby. We were selling our vegetables and from wool were making clothes. To save energy supplies we made an effort to maintain all of the work in daylight. The most important thing was to make sure that the toilets were outside.
This youth exchange really broadened my horizons about environmental problems and helped me to widen connections with people from other countries. I am very glad I had this chance to participate in the project and I am looking forward for other interesting projects in the future.
