Polish-Lithuanian youth exchange project “EcoLogica” took place in Poronin, Poland, from 24 April, 2016. The project program of 7 days was created to build a team, learn together, improve skills, develop imagination and have fun in friendly and safe international environment.
One of the task that we had to complete during this youth exchange was creating a short video about ecology. The main idea of the video is raising awareness among youth about world’s ecological issues.
All scenes were filmed in the area of villa “Austryjok”, where we lived the whole exchange. All equipment we needed to create the film was camera and computer, so we didn’t have any difficulties with that. Although, we had only one day to create the short movie, because other days in exchange were very busy.
Our video consists five ecological lessons. In the first part “eco super heroes” teach young people that littering is bad. In second part we show that people need to be generous and think about more than just themselves. The example of this is sharing a food with a homeless person.
Third lesson is that it is very important to recycle: in this case, throwing glass bottles into green recycle bin, rather than simple trash bin. Fourth and fifth lessons are more like fun tips, which can be useful if you want to be eco-friendly. In the fourth part we show that it’s better to go wash yourself in the rain, rather than taking a shower, because in this way you will save much water. The last part is the funniest one- here we teach that it’s a better choice to take a shower with your friends than alone, because you will also save water in that way.
Creating the video was really fun and a great experience. It made us strong team, because all Lithuanian participants worked together. And here you can see the result of our work:
