It means the project which took the place between 28th of May and 04th of June in Phokai, Izmir. Here participants from 7 countries were exploring new ideas about green energy in different countries, sharing their knowledge, discovering their new skills or improving these what they had before the project. One of the participants in this project was me.
There was wonderful and sunny day outside, while we met each other in our classroom for the first project activities. I saw many different people with some fears, expectations and strengths. Our dearest teacher asked us to write these 3 things on a board and to remember it all week. And I really did it! But how about others? If anyone read it, please, think, did you get what you wanted during that week. Wish you did. But now it is time for my expectations.
For me it was the first international project where I was a participant. I really didn’t know what to do, haven’t met any foreigners before for such a long time (now I would say it`s only a week…), had known about green energy only a little bit, so my expectations weren’t very specific. As everyone I wanted to know more about green energy. And of course, I did it. All week we were reading, talking about it and after that activities – created our green houses. Second expectation was a little bit different than others. As I am a project manager in Lithuania with local projects, I wanted to know how international projects are going on (how they are coordinated, how to do it successful and how to care about it). I did it too. But the most important expectation wasn’t that. I just wanted to spend that week so good, as I could come back home with the best emotions I can. You can imagine…
Turkey, Izmir, Phokai. Sunny days and hot weather, blue sea, beaches, mountains surround you. Many smiles, nice words, delicious Turkish food, a lot of watermelon. Different cultures, its jolly dances (yes yes, morning Zumba was so good too), beautiful songs and some traditional food. A lot of humanity, understanding, listening, positivity, enthusiasm and creativity. Cool active teachers from whom you can learn. Many future leaders.
My soul is there while I am writing. I think it means that my expectations became real.
