The team from Lithuania participated in the Erasmus + project “Different world”, which took place on May 3-11 in the town of Poronin, Poland. Project participants immersed themselves in various activities and classes together with blind participants. We drew, sculpted, ate blindfolded to feel what a blind person feels. Italy, Latvia, Poland and Lithuania organised national cultural evenings. We created and showed a video about Lithuania, sang Lithuanian folk songs and together with all the participants we played the game-quiz “Similarities and differences of our countries”.
The organisers of the project prepared an interesting cultural program. Perhaps the biggest challenge for everyone was climbing the mountains. We saw Morskie Oko – the most impressive lake in the Tatra Mountains, visited Zakopane, got acquainted with the history, culture and traditions of the region. A trip to the Bochnia salt mine enriched our knowledge of geography and swimming in the thermal pools was fantastic fun.
During the week spent in Poland, we experienced many wonderful things – we improved our knowledge of the English language, gained experience in communication and internationality, and understood the importance of empathy. Participation in such projects is an invaluable experience for young people.
