In one of the most beautiful towns of Romania Sfantu Gheorghe, Roma and non – Roma youth workers, youth leaders, teachers, social workers and other who are directly working with Roma and non – Roma young peoplemet each other. The aim of the training course – to train participants to support rural youth on recognition of their Roma cultural values such as traditions and nature.
Participants from 11 countries started to know each other through group building activities. There were created opportunities for cooperation in the NGO market and get to know different cultures at the international evening – so many things done in one day! Next days were full of information, hard work and good emotions, most of the time was spent working in groups.
Roma traditions and culture, young people, unemployment, rural areas, entrepreneurship – topics of training course. The training course was built on the experiences of the participants and the needs of the Roma and non – Roma youth organizations: participants shared with each other ideas and methods, created new tools for developing the youth sector in relation with Roma traditions, experienced best practices. General overview of Erasmus+ programme and ideas for future projects finished this training course and valuable time spent together.
The most memorable moments? Easter eggs painting and international Roma day celebration together with local Roma community – carriages, horses, songs and colors!
