Yesterday we went to a shelter in the afternoon to try Ukranian and Lithuanian plates and of course we had to cook a traditional Spanish plate, so we went to the supermarket to buy the necessary ingredientes for our Tortilla de Patatas.
Once we got there, we walked a little through the woods next to the shelter, by the way it was beautiful with the sun, the birds, the lake and the green of the ground and trees.
Later we took our ingredients and entered to the house and we met everyone there, everyone were very nice to us.
We decided that we were going to make two tortillas because there was like 15 persons, so for our Tortilla de Patatas we started pealing and cutting the potatoes and the onions and then we put them on the oil and we let it there until the potatoes are soft and then we mixed it with the eggs and some salt, the hardest part of this plate is that when the bottom of the tortilla is made Carlos put a plate on the top of the pan and turn the tortilla, we let a couple of minutes and it’s made.
The first tortilla was not really pretty but it was really tasty, our second one was pretty and delicious! We were really proud of our first tortillas that we ever made in our life, so we ate it very proud.
The first plate was an Ukranian soup called Borsch, made with onions, carrots, tomatoe, beans, meat, potatoe, cabbage, beet and other condiments, and they gave us sour cream to put it on the soup. I was afraid of not liking it because I actually don’t like beet, but I have to say that it was very good.
For second plate we had our tortilla de patata, and at the end there wasn’t any tortilla left, so we hoped they liked our plate because we made it with so much laughs and love.
And finally we had a Lithuanian dessert that it’s called varškės apkepas (curd pudding), it was Good, and we put rasberry jam on it, the jam was so so good.
On the way to home we were thinking of that unforgettable and beautiful experience we had together, we would repeat this over and over.
